We use a lot of forwarders to manage our incoming emails.
The general rule is that if someone is a team member for Oblong Media (the publishing co), then they’ll have an address like arnold@OblongHQ.com. This is likely to be a Google Apps account.
However for most contributors and writers, they do not need (or want) another email account to log into, so they will have forwarders from each magazine brand direct to their email addresses.
E.g. simon@ConvertMag.com => simon.pegg@gmail.com
We also use generic forwarders for each brand, like:
- ideas@convertmag.com => Feedly
- writers@convertmag.com => al@oblonghq.com
- support@woofmag.com => Helpscout
In essence, the brand email ‘system’ will always use forwarders. Team members of Oblong Media will have email accounts.
